I like being a city employee today:
11/11/2008
Sitting in my pajamas, surfing the internet and having a paid day off.
I am not going to write about how mad I am at ABC for switching the race to ESPN2 for the America’s Funniest Home Video show with 39 laps to go in the championship race. (Oops I guess I just wrote about it.) They didn’t even have the courtesy to put the broadcast on the internet to watch.
It was a dizzy day yesterday: with a little bit of a head cold, a cold front moving in, I am having issues with IT. I was catching up on more paperwork form last week, trying to get some of the stuff off my desk for the holiday today. It was a keep busy, plug along kind of day. I had to turn my phone volume up and caught someone off guard as they used my phone for a call. I have an appointment scheduled with the super specialist on Friday for some follow up.
I signed up for one of those personals sites on Sunday afternoon: that’s embarrassing enough, but this morning I got a call from the credit card company’s security department inquiring about the charge. I guess it didn’t fit my card holder profile. I was glad it was a woman when I called back. Yes, I have delved in for a 3 month subscription.
I created a profile; I got to check off the boxes for what I am looking for. I got to write about what I want in a mate. I understand you can be anyone you want on the internet: I will delve in with a good bit of caution. It was nice to see that I got a few responses when I logged back on last night. I wrote about looking under rocks a few months back and I am still working on that mission.
I am not ready to give up and head to the pound for another “brown eyed Sagittarius for a long term relationship” quite yet. Saba doesn’t need a pal, but I would like to have one.
