Holiday Parties.
12/14/2008
Three in two days.
I headed out after work Friday to a party at a local law firm. I got my first invitation years ago when I used to help a firm’s runner locate reports and I have been invited ever since. I enjoy the get together: lots of the court folks, some of the judges, lots of politicians. I enjoy the banter, the networking and the food is fabulous. I crashed the second party: technically I didn’t have an initiation, but a group of people were heading to the second party so I headed over and joined them. I stayed for about an hour, met some more people and then headed out for the house. I noticed one person that had arrived the same time I did and was heading out at exactly the same time. I commented that we had the same tolerance for parties as he was walking to his car and I was heading to the bus. He offered me a ride but I declined: I don’t get into cars with strangers and I sure wouldn’t get into a car with a lawyer!
Saturday I did a bit of shopping: I was surprised with the number of people that were out. I didn’t notice a lot of bags, but there were people at the outlets. I hit one store: got a few gifts and then headed back home. The lights and the movement along with a weather change were not a good combination for IT. I headed to the house. (IT is a medical problem, for those new to my journal)
I headed out in the evening for a neighborhood gathering. It was well attended and lots of good treats. The woman that has the event is a gourmet cook, so the food is always fabulous. I did a little more socializing and networking and then headed to the house for a sound sleep.
